REGISTRATION, VENUE & GENERAL INFORMATION

REGISTRATION

Registration will take place at the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre (TECC) during the following times:

Ÿ         Sunday 16 August                    4.00pm – 6.00pm (ICEBREAKER Function follows)

Ÿ         Monday 17 August                   8.00am – 5.30pm

Ÿ         Tuesday 18 August                  8.00am – 5.30pm

Ÿ         Wednesday 19 August             8.00am – 4.30pm

SESSIONS

Monday & Tuesday morning - Plenary Sessions-  Main Auditorium  (TECC)

Monday & Tuesday afternoon - concurrent workshop sessions - Main Auditorium, Palm Room, Magnetic Room - TECC

Wednesday & Thursday - concurrent sessions all day - main Auditorium, Palm Room - TECC : Ballroom 1 & 2 Jupiters Hotel (adjoins TECC)


SOCIAL FUNCTION TICKETS

If you have indicated your intention to attend or purchased tickets for the social functions, these tickets will be included in your registration envelope. Tickets are available from the Registration Desk.

FIRST AID

First Aid will be located in the Secretariat office next to the Registration Desk.  Should you require assistance of any kind during the conference, please notify one of the registration desk staff or venue staff.

 

INTERNET DEN

Internet facilities will be available to delegates in the Internet Den located in the Magnetic Room.

 

MEALS

Tea breaks and lunches will be served throughout the venue area.  We invite you visit the main marquee during break times to view the poster displays. Special Dietary requirements – a dedicated service point will be allocated for delegates who have ordered a special dietary meal.  This area will be announced in the housekeeping notes.  Delegates are asked to make themselves known to staff in this area to collect a specially prepared meal.

 

MESSAGES

Messages for delegates attending the conference will be placed on a message board at the conference registration desk.

 

SMOKING POLICY

The Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre is a non-smoking venue.
 

SPECIAL NEEDS

Every effort is made to ensure special needs are catered for. Should you require any specific assistance, please notify the registration desk.

 

TAXIS

If you need a taxi, there is a taxi rank at the front of Jupiters Hotel, or call 13TAXI.

 

TOILETS

Toilet facilities are indicated on the venue map. 

 

From 26th June payment for registration will  only be accepted by credit card online or cheque. All cheque payments must be received by EGRU Administration office no later than close of business Friday 7th August 2009. Any payment issues can be directed to sga2009@jcu.edu.au

The Conference Abstracts Volume will be printed on order only. A digital version is included in your registration and will be in your conference bag.

Please pre-order  on the registration form if you wish to purchase a hard copy of the Conference Abstracts Volume($120.00 AUD). Only a limited number will be available for purchase at the Conference once pre-orders have been collected. 

 

To register for the SGA2009 please complete the online Registration Form.  Payment for Social Events , Workshops and Field Trips is available on the Registration Form and should be selected at the time of Registration.

Accommodation choices need to be submitted via the Accommodation Booking Form available on the Accommodation page and Registration pages.

When registering please consider your choices carefully as refunds will not be available till after the Conference has concluded.

How to Register

NOTE: if you can only pay for your registration via bank transfer please complete the online registration form as normal then email it to sga2009@jcu.edu.au advising that you cannot pay by credit card and require an invoice.


Registration for the conference is available by

  1.  Obtaining a site login, then
  2.  Logging in with your username & password to access the registration form

The process involves two steps for security.

Obtaining A Site Login

  1. Visit the Site Sign-up form at #
  2. Click onto the 'Register' button to complete your account sign-up.

Registering For the Conference

  1. Sign in with your site login at #
  2. Click onto the 'Registration form' tab at the top of the page.
  3. Complete your conference registration, making sure to thoroughly read all instructions and conditions.
