TOWNSVILLE

Located on the north-eastern coast of Queensland, Townsville is Australia's largest tropical city  and is in one of the fastest growing regions in Australia. Situated on Ross Creek and overlooked by the 290m-high Castle Hill, Townsville is a thriving city.

Townsville has many attractions including  Reef HQ with a living coral reef aquarium,  Billabong Sanctuary, the  Museum of Tropical Queensland,  The Cultural CentreArt galleries, theatres and restaurants.  All are easily accessable within the city CBD.

Just 20 mins away by ferry,  is Magnetic Island, which has excellent swimming  beaches, bush walks and views. The historic gold rush mining towns of Charters Towers and Ravenswood are to the west and have retained many of their historical buildings. Within a short drive  of Townsville are National Parks boasting rainforests, waterfalls and spectacular beaches. Fishing is a major pastime of the region and fishing charters are available to the Great Barrier Reef from Townsville.
